Host Your Event on the Muscatine Riverfront

The Creek sits on the Muscatine riverfront, right next door to Contrary Brewing, with the Mississippi out the window and local art on the walls. It’s a comfortable room — wine from our own vineyard in Letts, a proper cocktail list, a little food, and live music most weeks.

It’s also a good place to have people over.

The room holds up to 60, and for a few hours it can be entirely yours. It’s built like a lounge — 32 seats at tables and the bar, and the rest sofas and armchairs with coffee tables, so people can move around and actually talk to each other. Need a seated setup for a larger group? We’ll bring in folding tables and chairs at no extra charge. Just tell us what you’re planning when you book.

Birthdays, showers, retirements, book clubs, work gatherings, rehearsal dinners, celebrations of life, or a Tuesday afternoon with forty of your closest friends.

Planning a holiday party? December books up early — get in touch now and we’ll hold your date.

Private Event Pricing

Private event, outside our open hours $300
Private event, during open hours $500
Groups over 20 guests add $150
Public events no room fee

Private bookings run in six-hour blocks. The larger-group fee covers a second bartender, so nobody spends their evening in line.

Our open hours: Monday–Friday 3–9, Saturday 12–10, Sunday 12–6.

Booking outside those hours costs less and is often easier to get — a weekday morning, an early afternoon, a Sunday evening. If you’re flexible on timing, tell us and we’ll point you at the cheaper slot.

About public events: if your gathering is open to anyone who wanders in — a meetup, a launch, a fundraiser, a club night — there’s no room fee at all. You bring people through the door, which is worth more to us than a rental charge. Just talk to us first so we can staff it properly and help you spread the word.

What’s Included

The room and a bartender. That’s the honest version.

  • Exclusive use of the space for your block
  • A bartender for the duration, and a second one for groups over 20
  • Tables, chairs, and the room set the way you want it
  • Our full wine, beer, and cocktail list available to your guests
  • Setup and cleanup

Drinks are separate. Guests can buy their own, or you can run a tab and settle at the end — whichever suits the occasion. Just let us know which before people start arriving.

Want something batched? We can make sangria, punch, or something else by the pitcher so it’s ready when your guests are. Let us know ahead of time and we’ll quote it.

Screen and TV. We have a projection screen and projector, plus a TV that holds up better in daylight — good for a photo slideshow, a presentation, or the game on in the background. The projector isn’t permanently mounted yet, so let us know ahead of time and we’ll have whichever suits your event set and ready before your guests arrive.

The patio. Our patio is shared with Contrary Brewing and has table seating — handy when your group is split between wine and beer.

Food

You have options. The only real rule is that we need to know in advance.

Anything coming from our kitchen has to be ordered ahead. We’re a small operation, and a charcuterie board for twenty or a tray of cheesecake bites isn’t something we can pull together on the spot. Tell us what you’d like when you book, or as far ahead as you can manage, and it’ll be ready and waiting.

Charcuterie we can do for groups up to about 20. Past that it gets hard for us to do well, and we’d rather say so than serve you something thin.

For larger groups, we’d point you to Cheers & Graze with Charm. They do beautiful work at a scale we can’t match, and they know this room.

Or bring your own. Outside food is welcome, and so are non-alcoholic drinks. Cake, catering, a stack of pizzas — whatever the occasion calls for.

Booking

We keep this simple.

Get in touch with your date, your rough headcount, and what you’re celebrating, and we’ll tell you what’s open. We’ll ask for a card on file to hold the room, and we’ll settle everything at the end of your event.

If plans change, just give us a few days’ notice where you can. We understand that life happens.

Something to know: we’re licensed, so all alcohol served here comes from our bar — no outside beer, wine, or liquor. Nobody under 21 gets served, and ID may be required.
